Halfway Pond is a 232 acre pond located in Plymouth, Massachusetts east of the Myles Standish State Forest. The average pond depth is 9 feet with a maximum depth of 13 feet. The pond is primarily fed by groundwater springs and is the headwaters of the Agawam River. The nearly three miles of lightly-developed shoreline includes homes, cranberry bogs, wetlands, and conservation areas.
The Wildlands Trust owns over 400 acres of conservation area and scenic walking trails primarily along the northern side of the pond. Massachusetts Fisheries and Wildlife owns conservation area along the southern side of the pond. The Halfway Pond Island is a private research preserve owned by The Nature Conservancy of Massachusetts.
Access to Halfway Pond is on Mast Road where there are a few places for parking and fishing along the western shoreline. A small Wildlands Trust parking area is also located north of the pond. It is recommended that people use canoes, kayaks, and other small boats on the pond.
